Nelson County is home to a vibrant and growing population that values relationships among citizens that build upon active lifestyles and social connections. One way to help achieve these goals, and have fun, is to support the growth of public pickleball courts (none currently exist in the county). Both young and old enjoy this popular growing sport, and many communities are making significant investments in providing public pickleball courts, often in partnership among agencies and local private organizations. Recognizing the need and benefits to have public pickleball courts in Nelson County, the Nelson County Pickleball Association (NCPA) was established on April 2, 2023, under the leadership of Tori Jenkins. Charter members of the Association all participate in the weekly Sunday ‘open’ pickleball play supported by the Nelson County Department of Parks & Recreation.

Our mission:
“To encourage and promote the game of Pickleball,
with courts open to the public, in Nelson County.”
